Information
China Everbright Group, the parent company of the China Everbright
Limited is a core state owned enterprise operating under the supervision
of the state council of China. It's business mainly covers the financial
sector, which includes in banking, securities, insurance, investment
management business, etc.
As a result of China's opening up and reform, China Everbright Holding
Company Limited was established in Hong Kong in 1983. In 1993-1994,
the group stared to invest in the Hong Kong capital market, acquiring
listed companies and restructuring China Everbright Limited (Stock Code165), China Everbright International
Limited (Stock Code 257).
In 1990, China Everbright Group Limited was established in Beijing
to work in close cooperation with its Hong Kong counterparts. At present,
China Everbright Bank, Everbright Securities Company Limited, Sunlife
Everbright Insurance Company Limited and Everbright Pramerica Fund
Management Co., Ltd. etc, are operating under the banner of China
Everbright Group in mainland China. It is also the biggest shareholder
of Shenyin & Wanguo Securities Company Limited.
As at June of 2007, the total asset of the group is RMB 700 billion.
